1. What makes HomeMeal unique?
HomeMeal is Germany’s first meal box service that provides authentic, homemade, and delicious meals from Berlin’s best and most established home cooks.
2. How do you Deliver?
Our dishes are shipped with DHL Express throughout Germany.
3. What is the shelf life of our dishes?
Since we don't use any artificial preservatives, our meals stay safe for 3 days in the refrigerator.
If you would like to freeze our dishes, they will have a shelf life of at least 1 month.
4. How do I heat the dishes?
You can easily heat our dishes in the microwave or pan.
Empty the food in a microwave safe container and heat it accordingly as instructed on the label.
5. Where are your dishes cooked?
Our delicious and healthy dishes are cooked with love, by Berlin’s most talented home cooks who are equipped with all the necessary health and hygiene licences. We pay particular attention to the standards and quality of our home cooks to ensure your satisfaction.
6. How many servings are offered in one meal box?
There are 6 meals in one box. Each meal in the box corresponds to one portion (450-500g) and is therefore designed for one person.
If you are only a little hungry, the dish is also easily enough for two people.
7. How are the dishes packaged?
Our home cooks make the food fresh and hand it over to our delivery agents at a temperature between 2-7°C, which is in compliance with our food safety regulations. Our packaging is designed in such a way where we have an isolation chamber with cooling pads that keep the temperature stable, and the food safe, in the process.
8. Is your packaging recyclable?
Our box and insulation material are FSC®-certified. They are made of 100% recyclable and biodegradable paper material, which can simply be disposed of in the paper bin. Our meal boxes are made of reusable plastic containers. They can be disposed of in the plastic bin. Our ice packs are completely water-based and can be reused. The outer packaging is made of plastic and can be disposed of in the plastic bin.
